Vassili Golod

born in 1993 in Kharkiv, is the ARD’s correspondent for Ukraine. At the age of two, he moved to Germany with his family and grew up in Bad Pyrmont, where he also attended school. He studied political science and history at the University of Göttingen and Aberystwyth University in Wales. After graduating, he completed a traineeship at WDR and went on to work as an editor and reporter in the WDR newsroom. For ARD, he has reported from London, Moscow, and Berlin. In 2023, he took over as head of ARD’s studio in Kyiv. He co-founded the podcast »Machiavelli – Rap & Politics« with Jan Kawelke, and continues to serve as its host.
