born in 1967, is a journalist and author. She studied Chinese and politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London and subsequently worked for many years as a reporter and columnist in Asia and Europe, among others at the »South China Morning Post« and the »New York Times«. Today, she lives in Berlin and is a Senior Fellow in the Asia Program of the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP), where she focuses on China’s political system, China’s relationship with Europe, and technology transfer.
