Biography
Steffen Popp was born in Greifswald in 1978 and grew up in Dresden. He published his volume of poetry, »Wie Alpen« (2004; t: Like Alps), and the novel »Ohrenberg oder der Weg dorthin« (2006; t: Ohrenberg or the way there), and translated Christian Hawkey’s poems, collected under the title »Reisen in Ziegengeschwindigkeit« (t: Travelling at the speed of goats), together with Uljana Wolf. In autumn of 2008 his second volume of poetry, »Kolonie Zur Sonne« (t: The Sun Colony), was published. Among Popp’s many awards are the Kranichsteiner Award for Promising Writers (2004), the Heimrad Bäcker Award for Promising Writers (2006) and the Rauriser Literature Prize (2007). He lives in Berlin.
