born in 1971. Studied Architecture. Starting in the early 1990s, he got involved in environmental politics and was a co-founder of the youth organization of Germany’s Green Party. In 1998, Schurig became the spokesman of Greenpeace Germany; he headed its Climate and Energy department from 2002 to 2007. Since 2007, he is leading the Climate and Energy division of the World Future Council focusing on renewable energies and modern cities.
