Helga Schubert

born 1940 in Berlin, is a medical psychologist. Her most important publications are »Lauter Leben« (1975; tr: Louder Lives), »Das verbotene Zimmer« (1982; tr: The Forbidden Room), »Judasfrauen« (1990), »Die Welt da drinnen« (2003; tr: The World Here Inside) and »Vom Aufstehen« (2021; tr: On Rising). Her awards include the Heinrich Griffin Prize, the Heinrich Mann Prize, the Hans Fallada Prize, the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize, and an honorary doctorate from Purdue University (USA).
