Ryyan Alshebl is a politician affiliated with Alliance 90/The Greens. In 2015, he fled the civil war and political persecution in Syria, crossing the Mediterranean to reach Germany. He eventually settled in Calw, near Stuttgart. After completing vocational training as a public administration specialist, he became the first Syrian in Germany to be elected mayor on June 23, 2023. Since May 2024, he has also served as a member of the Calw District Council. Ryyan Alshebl lives in Ostelsheim in the northern Black Forest.
