Ronya Othmann

Ronya Othmann, born in Munich in 1993, is an author and journalist. She studied at the Swiss Literature Institute in Biel and the German Literature Institute in Leipzig. Until 2020, she wrote about Middle East politics for taz. Since 2021, she has been responsible for the »Import Export« column in the »Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung«. Othmann focuses primarily on the topics of trauma, flight, migration, and the genocide of the Ezidis, which she documents in »Vierundsiebzig« (tr: Seventy-four). She received the Audience Prize at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in 2019 for an excerpt from the novel.
