Rainald Manthe, born 1987 in Berlin, is a freelance author, sociologist, and board member of the foundation Stiftung Bildung. He studied sociology in Duisburg-Essen, St. Petersburg, and Bielefeld and completed his doctorate in Chicago and Lucerne on the transnational meetings of social movements, the World Social Forums. He was the program director for Liberal Democracy at the think tank »Zentrum Liberale Moderne« and writes on the development and challenges of liberal democracy. Manthe lives in Berlin.
