Nikita Milivocevic

born in In ija (Vojvodina province) in 1961, is one of the most prominent theatre directors in Serbia. In the 1990s, his theatre productions had a lasting impact in his home country and his bold, innovative interpretations of works of classical drama helped carry him into the new millenium. Milivojevćwho directed the renowned BITEF Theatre festival in Belgrade from 2005 to 2009, has won all of the important drama awards in his country. As a director, he has also worked in Sweden, Slovenia, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey and the USA. His major successes include productions of »Ivanov« and »Crime and Punishment« at the Amore Theatre in Athens. He was named best director of the 2004/05 season for »Three Sisters« which was staged at the Katia Dandoulaki Theatre in Athens. Nikita Milivojević is a professor of directing and acting at the Art Academy in Novi Sad.
