Natascha Adamowsky, born in 1967, completed her doctorate in 1998 at the University of Siegen with a thesis on »Game figures in virtual worlds«. After a period as a junior professor at the Humboldt University in Berlin, during which she researched into game theories and media culture, and a professorship in the cultural study of aesthetics, also at the Humboldt, Adamowsky is now a professor for media culture studies at the Albert Ludwigs University in Freiburg giving courses in media aesthetics and history, among others.
