Moshtari Hilal
born in 1993, studied Islamic Studies and Political Science with a focus on Gender and Decolonial Theory in Hamburg, Berlin, and London. As a visual artist, writer, and curator, her significant works include the 2022 publication »English in Berlin – Exclusions in a Cosmopolitan Society« co-authored with Sinthujan Varatharajah, for their collaborative work they were awarded the supporting price for critique by the Lessing Academy Wolfenbüttel. Her groupshow »childhood(s)« as artist-curator is currently on display at Haus Coburg – Städtische Galerie Delmenhorst. Hilal’s forthcoming book, »Hässlichkeit« (tr: Ugliness), is due in September 2023. She is also one of the 2023 Academy of Fine Arts fellows at Villa Serpentara, hosted by Villa Massimo in Olevano and Rome.
