Michi Strausfeld

born in Recklinghausen, she studied English, Spanish, and French literature in Cologne. In Bonn, she completed her PhD with a dissertation on Gabriel García Márquez and the new Latin American novel. From 1974 to 2008, she was the head of the Spanish and Latin American literature section at Suhrkamp Verlag, after which she worked for S. Fischer Verlag as a scout until 2015. She has edited numerous anthologies and other volumes. Strausfeld lives in Berlin and Barcelona.
