Michael Krings

born in 1968, is a German paleobotanist. He studied biology, history and musicology, and philosophy in Münster, where he also earned his high school teacher certificate to teach biology and history. In 1998 he completed his doctorate in botany, zoology and paleontology. From 1999 to 2003 he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Kansas. He completed his postdoctoral studies in Münster, and has been a professor of paleobotany in Munich since 2007.
