MC Martina

born in Rio de Janeiro in 1998, is a rapper and slam poet. She founded Slam Laje, a spoken word battle in the Complexo do Alemão favela, where she also lives. She is a member of the collective Poetas Favelados, which performs poetic actions in public spaces. In her work, she is often critical of Brazilian politics and is involved with the community of Complexo do Alemão.
