
Martha Gantier

born in in La Paz, Bolivia, is a poet for both adult and younger audiences. Following her debut »Poemas« [1988, tr. Poems], she published several more poetry collections and children’s books. »Remigia la Muñeca de Trapo« [2002, tr. Remigia the Ragdoll] tells the story of a little girl who leaves her rag doll behind – prompting the doll to set out on a journey of her own. In »Ronron Desde La Ventana Y Otros Poemas« [2022, tr. Ronny from the Window and Other Poems], she presents poems for a similarly young audience. In 2017, she was a finalist for the international poetry award Premio Ángel Ganivet. The bilingual German-Spanish poetry collection »Mantefante« was published in 2024. Gantier studied geology in La Paz, as well as literature and linguistics in Medellín and Pereira, Colombia. Her poems have been published in several international journals and anthologies. Martha Gantier lives in Berlin.
