Mariann Yar is an actor whose work lies at the intersection of performance and power-critical approaches to theater organization. She studied acting at the Berlin University of the Arts and has since appeared in productions at municipal and state theaters as well as in Berlin’s independent theater scene. She is a member of the leadership teams of Berlin’s Ringtheater and the DorisCrea collective, with which she develops and produces original work. Working across genres, she advocates for meaningful creative participation and creates projects with a strong political focus, ranging from anti-racism to intersectional empowerment. Mariann Yar lives in Berlin.
