Biography
Maren Amini, born in 1983 in Hamburg, is a comic artist, illustrator, and cartoonist. After earning a degree in Illustration and Communication Design, she worked freelance for publications including »The Washington Post«, »Spiegel« and »Die Zeit.« Following contributions to various comic anthologies, Amini’s first graphic novel, »Ahmadjan und der Wiedehopf«, was published in 2024 and received the Berthold Leibinger Comic Book Prize even before its release. She was also nominated for the special award of the German Children’s Literature Award in the category New Talents.
