Maja Gebhardt is a moderator, translator, and cultural mediator. Born in Sarajevo, she came to Germany in 1992 as a refugee following the war in her home country. She studied German and English studies in Munich and worked as a teacher of German as a foreign language and language examiner. To this day, she moderates the folklore program and organizes the literary day of the Balkantage. She translates from several languages and is also involved in community building projects in the Balkan region. Maja Gebhardt lives in Berlin.
