Ludwig Volbeda is a Dutch author, illustrator, and freelance artist. He studied illustration at the Sint Joost School of Art and Design in Breda. Volbeda illustrates children’s books and writes and illustrates a weekly column for »De Groene Amsterdammer«. His work has received numerous awards. In 2018, he received the Gouden Penseel for »Fabeldieren«, and in 2021 again the Gouden Penseel as well as the Woutertje Pieterse Prize for »Hele verhalen voor een halve soldaat«. In 2024, he made his debut as an author with the young adult novel »Oever«, which won the Woutertje Pieterse Prize in 2025. Ludwig Volbeda lives in Amsterdam.
