Lisa Weeda
born in 1989, is an author, scriptwriter, and virtual reality director. Ukraine, the homeland of her grandmother, often features prominently in her work. She co-wrote and co-directed the VR installation »ROZSYPNE«, which was nominated for an award in the IDFA DOClab competition for Immersive Non-Fiction in 2019. She made her literary debut with the novel »ALEKSANDRA« (2021), which placed her as the Literary Talent of 2022 by the Volkskrant and was shortlisted for the Boekhandelsprijs, Scheltema Book of the Year, and the Libris Literature Prize in 2022. In December 2022, she received the Bronze Owl for Best Debut. The translation rights for »ALEKSANDRA« have so far been sold to eight countries. She is currently working on the book and corresponding show »DANS DANS REVOLUTIE« (tr: Dance Dance Revolution), set to come out in early 2024, with the performance to be shown in Theater Bellevue in May 2024.
