Khaled Barakeh

born in 1976 in Damascus, is a Berlin-based artist and cultural activist whose work revolves around power structures in the context of politics, culture, and identity. As part of his artistic practice, he founded the non-profit organization CoCulture, which addresses the challenges faced by displaced cultural producers. For the project »Familiar and Strange Places« he is developing a geographically and culturally composed Damascus-Berlin map.
