Born in Berlin in 1932, Jürgen Holtz is a German actor. He studied at the Theaterinstitut Weimar and at the Theaterhochschule Leipzig. He went on to work at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg Platz, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Berliner Ensemble, the Residenztheater Munich, the theaters of Hamburg, Frankfurt, Bochum, Cologne, and Zurich, and the Nationaltheater Mannheim. He has been a member of the Berliner Ensemble again since 2006. He has also featured in projects for radio, film and television. Jürgen Holtz has received numerous awards, including the Adolf Grimme Prize, the Hessian Cultural Prize, the Berlin Theatre Prize and the Konrad Wolf Prize.
