Jürgen Dormagen

born in 1945, is a German editor and translator. He worked as an editor for the publisher Suhrkamp/Insel from 1984 to 2011, with a primary focus on the Spanish and Latin-American literature program. At Suhrkamp he was in charge, among others, of the work of Mario Vargas Llosa, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature. Dormagen was the first publishing editor to receive the »Übersetzerbarke« award from the Verband deutschsprachiger Übersetzer 2010.
