Biography
born in 1959 in Upernavik, Greenland [Kalallit Nunaat], is a poet and artist in both performance and visual arts. Based on the complex relationships and exchanges between cultures, her practice explores the ways in which Greenlandic identity and tradition, the body, land and language, change over time. Her most recent collection of poetry, »Arkhticós Dolorôs« [2021], written trilingually in Greenlandic, Danish, and English, was nominated for the 2022 Nordic Council Literature Prize. Her performances and installations have been exhibited across Northern Europe and the United States. Kleemann lives in Copenhagen.
