born in 1937 in Marsberg, is a German journalist and curator and an advisor for the German PEN presidium. He studied literature and art history and later worked as a professor and wrote literary criticism for the »SZ«. In 1985, he founded the first German »House for Literature« in Berlin, which he directed until 2003. In 2005 Wiesner was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit. He lives in Berlin.
