Heide Franck
born in Germany, studied European Studies, Applied Literary Studies and Scandinavian Studies in Eichstätt, Berlin and Göteborg. Since 2010 she has been translating English and Swedish texts into German. She also gained experience in the publishing industry, especially in public relations, website management, and editing. Franck translated several notable works including R. F. Kuang’s »Babel« (2023), Olivie Blake’s »The Atlas Six« (2022) and »The Atlas Paradox« (2023), as well as a number of books by Joe R. Lansdale (2012–2016). As co-head of the project »Kollektive Intelligenz – Übersetzungsmaschinen und Literatur« (tr: Aggregate Intelligence – Translation Machines and Literature), Heide Franck tests AI for its suitability for literary translation. She is actively involved at the women’s network BücherFrauen-Akademie.
