Günther Orth

born 1963 in Ansbach, he was schooled in Islamic Studies, Geography and Sociology in Erlangen. Orth earned a doctorate in modern Yemeni literature and was a professor of Translation and German as a Foreign Language at various universities. He translates books from Arabic into German and works as a conference interpreter. In 2009, acting as moderator and interpreter, he played a big role in the success of the focus »Arab World« at the international literature festival berlin.
