Giovanni Montanaro

Giovanni Montanaro was born in Venice in 1983. He studied law and has worked as an author and editor for magazines, local newspapers and websites. His first novel, »La croce Honninfjord« (2007; t: The cross of Honninfjord), which brings together elements from thrillers, historical novels and love stories, was shortlisted for the »Premio Calvino« in 2006. He has worked with the theatre company »Voriamanoposso« among others and has written various stage plays. »Arriva sempre la stessa lettera da Vienna« (t: There always comes the same letter from Vienna) received a special mention at the Ernesto Calindri European Prize for playwrights. Montanaro’s stories have been included in several anthologies. He is currently studying for his bar exams.
