Federico Eisner
is a Chilean-Uruguayan musician, poet, researcher and cultural producer. With a background that bridges science and art – holding a degree in Chemistry and a PhD in Music – he has devoted his career to exploring the intersection of sound and verse. A professional electric bassist, he has performed with bands such as Gavana, Takatrio, and Fotogramas, with sound poets such as Pia Sommer and Luis Bravo, and in 2011 he co-founded Orquesta de Poetas, a poetry and music collective in plenty activity. This practical musical experience informs his in-depth theoretical work on the fusion of poetry and music, a subject he has also taught in workshops and universitary programs. He is the co-founder and director of the Festival Poesía y Música PM, a major biennial event in Santiago, Chile, since 2014. The festival serves as a vital platform for poetry, live music, and the performative arts, presenting concerts, an audiovisual program, workshops, and talks. Under his direction, the PM Festival has remained a dynamic cultural force for over a decade, fostering sustained dialogue across artistic disciplines. Eisner also has written both poetry and narrative books, being »Morir Solo« his first novel published in Spain in 2024.
