Christoph Wilhelm Aigner

born 1954 in Upper Austria’s Wels, he studied German Language and Literature, Communications and Sports Science in Salzburg. His publications include books of poetry, stories and other prose, translations as well as the novel »Die schönen bitteren Wochen des Johann Nepomuk« (tr: The beautiful bitter weeks of Johann Nepomuk). He is counted among the most important poets of today and received the Else Lasker Schüler Prize and the Grand Austrian State Prize for Literature.
