Candy Gourlay was born in the Philippines and worked as a journalist for the opposition press during Marcos’ dictatorship in the 1980s. She has written books for all ages – from picture books for the little ones to young adult. She has won the National Children’s Book Award of the Philippines twice and been nominated for many prizes in the United Kingdom where she lives.
