Bascha Mika is a journalist and author. From 1998 to 2009, she served as editor-in-chief of taz, and from 2014 to 2020 she headed the Frankfurter Rundschau. As an honorary professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, she directed the Cultural Journalism program until 2014. In 2020, she was named «Journalist of the Year» in recognition of her lifetime achievement. Her most recent book, co-authored with Arnd Festerling, is « Freiheit. Wo unsere Freiheit beginnt und wer sie bedroht» (2016). Bascha Mika lives in Berlin.
