Armen Avanessian

studied philosophy and political science in Vienna and Paris, and comparative literature in Bielefeld. He worked at the Peter Szondi institute of comparative literature at Berlin’s Free University. Avanessian was a visiting fellow of the German departments at Columbia University and Yale, and a visiting professor at art academies in Nuremberg, Vienna, Basel, Copenhagen, and California. He founded the research platform spekulative-poetik.de and is managing editor of Merve publishers.
