Ana Prieto Nadal

Ana Prieto Nadal was born in Barcelona in 1976. She studied Classical Philology in her hometown and at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Her debut novel, »La matriz y la sombra« (2002; t: The womb and the shadow) was awarded the »Ojo crítico« prize for fiction. The book, which transcends the boundaries of its genre, focuses on a female view of a passionate love affair and was praised for its personal, lyrical and risky style. Nadal later published in the magazine »Granta« and contributed to the collection of erotic stories »Todo un placer« (2005; t: All pleasure). The writer teaches Latin and Greek in high school.
