Ali Fathollah-Nejad is a German-Iranian political scientist and author. His research focuses on the Middle East and Western foreign policy. He heads the Center for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG) and teaches Middle East politics and international security at the Hertie School in Berlin. He previously worked at, among others, Harvard Kennedy School, the Brookings Institution in Doha, the German Council on Foreign Relations, and the American University of Beirut. His book «Iran – Wie der Westen seine Werte und Interessen verrät» (2025) is his most recent. He lives in Berlin.
