Alexander Wells is a critic, essayist, and translator from Sydney, Australia. His work has been published by «The Guardian», «The Drift», «Poetry», «Meanjin», and «Paris Review», among others. From 2020 to 2025, he was books editor of the print monthly «The Berliner». He now edits at the literary newsletter «The Auflauf» and moderates events in Berlin’s anglophone literary scene. He has received a research grant from the Berlin Senate and has been shortlisted for several awards. His first book will appear with Matthes & Seitz in 2027. Alexander Wells lives in Berlin.
