Michel Abdollahi is a journalist, presenter, author, and painter. He was born in Tehran and grew up in Hamburg. He became widely known through the NDR programme «Der deutsche Michel». For the documentary «Im Nazidorf» he received the 2016 Deutscher Fernsehpreis. During Ole von Beust’s term as mayor, he worked in the Hamburg Senate Chancellery and was a member of the CDU’s committee on integration. In 2005 he founded the event series «Kampf der Künste». His most recent book is «Es ist unser Land – Wir dürfen Deutschland nicht den Rechten überlassen» (2025). He lives in Hamburg.
