The authors on day 8 of the 24th Ilb addressed profound socio-political questions: From the moving German book premiere of Tahir Hamut Izgil’s “In Erwartung meiner nächtlichen Verhaftung” (Waiting to be Arrested at Night, German translation by Ulrike Kretschmer) about the exile and oppression of the Uyghurs to a powerful appeal by Davi Kopenawa, the Yanomami voice from Brazil and Mirjam Herrmann, representative of the Last Generation, showing us on how we can put a stop to the violence against nature.
The German premiere of Neige Sinno’s “Trauriger Tiger” (Triste tigre, German translation by Michaela Meßner) was dedicated to the topic of child abuse in one’s own family.
