Abdalrahman Alqalaq

Born in 1997 in Yarmouk, near Damascus, he is a Syrian-Palestinian writer, poet, and performer. In 2022, his poetry debut “Twenty-Four” was published in Arabic by Elles Publishing House in Cairo. In 2024, his first book of poems and short prose in German, titled “Rites of Passage,” was released by Wallstein Verlag. Some of his texts have been published in the Weiter Schreiben Magazine. Abdalrahman Alqalaq is studying Cultural Studies and Aesthetic Practice, focusing on theater and literature, as well as cultural policy in an international context at the University of Hildesheim and at Université M5 in Rabat. He completed a voluntary social year (FSJ) at the State Theater Karlsruhe and internships at the Youth National Theater Mannheim and at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele for the Performing Exiles Festival 2023.
