Per Leo, born in Erlangen in 1972, completed his studies in history, philosophy, and Slavic studies with a doctorate and lives as a freelance author in Berlin. The focus of his work is the examination of National Socialism and its after-effects to this day; his most recent publication is »Vorletzte Lockerungen. Texte zum Nachleben des Nationalsozialismus« (2023; tr: Penultimate Relaxations: Texts on the Aftermath of National Socialism). His debut novel »Flut und Boden« (2014; tr: Flood and Soil) about a family with a Nazi past became a bestseller. He is also co-author of the guide »Mit Rechten reden« (2017; tr: Talking With the Right).
