This volume of prose unites three atmospherically dense and complexly structured stories about experiences of loss and the power of language. The title story takes place in the GDR in 1982, »Lewkin« in Leningrad in 1942 and 1978, and »Laura« in Berlin in 2006. Palzhoff received a grant from the Authors’ Workshop of the Literary Colloquium of Berlin as well as the literary GWK Prize to foster talent in 2006. He lives in Berlin and works at the Centre for Literary and Cultural Research.
