Sasha Marianna Salzmann

Sasha Marianna Salzmann is an author, essayist and dramaturge. Salzmann’s debut novel »Außer sich« (2017; Eng: »Beside Myself«, 2019) was awarded the Mara Cassens Prize and the Jürgen Ponto Prize and was shortlisted for the German Book Prize. »Im Menschen muss alles herrlich sein« (2021; tr: Everything in Man Must Be Glorious) received the Hermann Hesse Literature Prize. Salzmann was awarded the Kleist Prize in 2024. Salzmann’s most recent publication, »Gleichzeit« (2024; tr: Simultaneously) is a compilation of letters exchanged with the Israeli author Ofer Waldman following the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel on October 7.
