Martin Zimmer

born in 1967, initially studied biology and completed his doctoral studies in Cologne. After acquitting his qualification as a professor in Kiel, he worked as a private lecturer for evolutionary ecophysiology and managed a workgroup for terrestrial ecology in Salzburg. At the moment, he is a cooperation professor for mangrove ecology at the University of Bremen and the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research. Zimmer’s research deals, among others, with biotic interactions in tropical coastal ecosystems subject to changing environmental conditions.
