Jürgen Witte

born in Karlsruhe in 1956. Jürgen Witte did American and Media Studies at Freie Universität Berlin. After tentatively exploring the worlds of blue- and white-collar work he became a freelance journalist and writer. He is a member of the reading stages »Der Frühschoppen« and »Reformbühne Heim & Welt«, an association of authors presenting their literary live performance every Sunday at Kaffee Burger in Berlin. Together with Jakob Hein he explores the regional, cultural and human definitions of German humour. Witte lives in Berlin.
