Dirk Notz

born in1975, studied meteorology in Hamburg and went to Cambridge as a postgraduate student after completing his diploma. After his doctorate, Notz started working at the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology in 2005; since 2008, he has managed the research group »Sea ice in the earth system« there. Notz regularly conducts expeditions into the Arctic and examines the effects of climate change there. Together with film-maker Arved Fuchs, he organises international youth camps on the current climate problem.
