Biography
born in 1951 in California, is an American linguist and author. In 1977, he traveled as a missionary to the Pirahã in the Brazilian Amazon, whose culture and language he researched over the next seven years. His current book »How Language Began: The Story of Humanity’s Greatest Invention« (2017) tackles questions about how languages emerge.
