Åsne Seierstad

born in Oslo in 1970, she studied Russian, Spanish and the history of ideas. From 1993 she wrote for a Norwegian daily in Russia and China, before being a war reporter for Norwegian television from 1998 to 2003. Her books usually portray people living in troubled regions such as Afghanistan, Chechnya and the Balkans. »One of Us« (2015) examines the life and crimes of mass murderer Andres Breivik. She lives in Oslo.
