Biography
Alixandra Fazzina, born in Great Britain in 1974, began her career as a photo journalist embedded with the British army in Bosnia in 2005. She has since focussed on chronicling the human suffering caused by war. Over the past ten years Fazzina has travelled to Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Eastern Europe documenting the lives of the uprooted in powerful and moving photo essays. In 2010 Fazzina was awarded the Nansen Award, the highest accolade from the UNHCR for her work for refugees. She is the author of the book »A Million Shilling – Escape from Somalia«. Fazzina lives in Islamabad and is member of the photo agency NOOR.
