Luki\u2019s mountain village in the Philippines is under American occupation. Rather than following the prescribed path of marriage, Luki would much rather hunt in the forest. When U.S. President Roosevelt invites her to the World\u2019s Fair in St. Louis, Luki doesn\u2019t hesitate. She embarks on the long journey to the United States, hoping to find the freedom she longs for.
