Insight Exile – The fifth day of the festival is dedicated to a theme that has shaped the ilb for 25 years: exile in literature. What does it mean to be forced to leave your homeland and write in a foreign country? At the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation, words come alive. They tell of exile as a space in between and trace the linguistic and emotional terrain that stretches between departure and arrival. In readings and conversations, authors reflect on their experiences: How does one deal with uprooting, loss, and the longing for a new beginning? Can writing become a home?
A cooperation with the Körber-Stiftung and the Documentation Centre for Displacement, Expulsion, Reconciliation. Supported by the Goethe-Institut in Exile, The Poetry Project e.V., and Weiter Schreiben.
The event is divided into three parts:
Writing – Between – Worlds, [18:00-19:00]
